As of now, all I see myself using is the caclulator and the PuppyCam. If we can get the hula thing to work, I'd use that to.

You're the designer dude. I think the instinct is to make it large because it is cute and all, but I would imagine smaller makes it less obtrusive and perhaps actually functinal. You don't need to know placement, but I picture it hanging out in the top right of the screen. Maybe 150 px high? I'm at work so I can't do tests to see what 150 looks like.

I want to give it a little bounce, and when it's all said and done the animation will be done with javascript and png files, but I just wanted to see if it's smooth.

The bonus to png files means that the background can be swapped out or eliminated if desired.

No. The graphics card will play a big part in it too. My B&W has a 7000, and stutters when doing expose stuff, or showing/hiding dashboard.

Unless you've got a new Mac with AGP I doubt it would be any different performance wise than Panther.

But if performance remains the same there are features that are worth it to some.

Or at least a roadway image. Like if it was actually on a dashboard. Maybe it can be a preference. Except I don't know how to do that yet.

I can make a flyout menu with background options, but they won't save in the prefs.

But that background has got to go. I'll whip up a few more.

Actually, you could pretty easily just get rid of the background entirely and I think it'd be good. But I'll still draw up some options.
